HONOR BOOKS
Books you can take out of the library...without checking them out!

Why?

Are there any subjects that you have questions about but you’re uncomfortable to ask? A problem you need help with, but you’re nervous to talk to anyone about it? You don’t even want to be seen checking out a book about it? We understand, and we want to make sure you can still get good, reliable information to help you find the answers you are looking for.

Honor books are books about subjects that you might be uncomfortable to ask about (shh…subjects like…sex…eating disorders…being depressed…divorce) and they can be taken out of the library without you having to check them out. That’s right! Just put one into your bag and walk out of the library.

But please DO bring them back when you are finished so that other students can use them too.

How do I know if it’s an honor book?
Honor books are shelved in with all the other books in the library, BUT they have small purple stickerson the top of the spine. Honor books are also labeled in the library catalog. Look for books that say [HONOR BOOK] after the title.
Can I search for honor books on the library catalog?
Yes! Type Honor Book in the search line and then click on “SUBJECT.” Then double click on [Honor Book] and you will see a list of all the honor books in the library.
